Spanish illustrator Helena Perez Garcia creates dream-like illustrations that tell stories more complex than they first seem. Most of her vibrant illustrations represent women in surreal settings, often along with flowers, plants, and animals. Each of the illustrations represents the artist’s thoughts and emotions in different stages of her life and, thanks to her unique style, the end result is mesmerizing.
“Her illustrations are conceptual, whimsical and rich in detail and colour. Helena’s primary medium is gouache and her main sources of inspiration are art, literature, and cinema,” we read on her website.
Garcia is inspired by her favorite art, books, and movies. She completed a Fine Arts Degree in Spain before moving to London in 2012. In 2018, she relocated to Madrid where she currently resides. Her list of clients includes Penguin Random House, The Financial Times, Reader’s Digest, etc.
