British-Canadian ceramic sculptor, Susannah Montague, makes intricate pieces that blend together animals, humans, and objects.
Each of her sculptures bursts with ideas, evoking a mixture of feelings. \u201cThese characters know much more than they let on,\u201d states the artist on her website.\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe inspiration comes from mysticism and esotericism which touches on daydreams and the fantastical elements that haunt our nights,\u201d she adds. \u201cWithin the eerie beauty of these ceramic sculptures is an exploration of the intersection between dreams and reality.\u201d\n\n\n\n

“Stepping into her studio is like discovering an Eighteenth-Century Cabinet of Curiosity,” reads her website. “Her art is a collection of shamanistic characters which imbibe the peculiar, scientific and mythical qualities involved in creation.” \n\n\n\n

Using a Glaze I mixed up and think I may have the ratios wrong because it streaks when it is fired. Thankfully, I did a test on a smaller piece first. I will have to wash the whole piece off and start again.
